Despite the long delay, it looks like the summer 2005 launch date that Kris reported on, might just happen after all. The FCC has just approved the Motorola i930, which typically means a couple more months until the phone hits the streets. The real question is, are any of you still waiting for this?

Ha!
I dumped Nextel about 2 years ago because of their bad selection of phones, poor battery life, high price and terrible coverage outside of major metro areas and highways.

My wife is still on Nextel; for 29 more days (when her contract runs out) and I switch her to cingular. The latest with these guys is network congestion and Text Messaging that is unreliable.

Best of luck to Nextel on this....

here in Peru Nextel is well know for his bussiness orientation... and "not for games, not for ringtones, not for party" phones... despite the fact of it, a major group of business use it ... this kind of phone close the circle of cover the major variety of mobile phones and coverage... :)

Hello all. After the FCC released the exhibits on their page, they also rreleased permissions to view the grant that Motorola sent to the FCC and along with that a summary list of the exhibits reports. For those who have read the confedential letter by motorola it says to block exhibits 3 and 6 which show the external and internal photos of the phone. On the following summary page, https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Sum&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=649700&fcc_id='AZ489FT5843'
you can see that Motorola gave permission to the fcc to release these exhibits on 07/03/2005. That gives us a clue that the phone might be released on that date or earlier. So I guess we can throw out another rumor saying that the i930 Smartphone by Nextel will be released on July 3, 2005.
