Broken ringer on SMT5600

I have an SMT5600 and it's been working wonderfully; that is until yesterday. I was installing some apps that I had found online (Doom, Pocket TV, and Pocket Music) and found that after the installation, I could no longer use the mp3 ringers I had been using. They still display in the sounds selection, but it won't let me click done with them selected. I tried an uninstall and cleanup of the new apps, but still to no avail. I even re-installed the mp3 ringers only to reach the same result. The files play in Media Player but won't act as ringers. What program does the phone use to play mp3 ringers. Any suggestions?

Same thing happened to me, but I didn't install any of the apps you mentioned. :cry:

I take it your issue was never resolved either?

I saw another thread on howardforums that said the problem was with Betaplayer taking the file associations for .mp3. I disabled the file association in Betaplayer, restarted and tried an mp3 and it played in WMP10. Then the voice ringer worked.

I'm happy now :)

In your case, that application would be PocketMusic.
