The question for PPCs is what would you pay for a WM2005 upgrade, $20, $30, more? I figured that the market force behind Smartphones is to get you to pay for service, which is why they are discounted by the carriers. So it makes sense to me that a carrier might benefit more in offerring an upgrade based on extending a service commitment. Would you do that? Would seem to be cheaper for the service provider to update your current hardware than subsidize a new phone.

I wouldn't extend my commitment for an OS upgrade. My SMT-5600 works just fine as it is. I'd do it for a hardware upgrade though.

I'd rather pay for it. These contracts make me sick.

I wouldn't extend my contract for an OS upgrade so I selected the fear of commitment on your poll.

I would love to be able to upgrade the 5600 though, so I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount to upgrade it.

While I see your point Sven, I would much rather pay a larger price and not be locked in. It's not that I'm scared of being locked in a contract, I just don't see this as being worth a year or two of my business.

I'd also rather pay than commit for the upgrade. I think $20 would be reasonable, but I think it'll be something in the range of $50.
