It looks like the price is $199.99 with a 2 year contract, and $249.99 with a 1 year contract.

I've spent some time on Cingular's website and reading their press releases but, I haven't been able to find any mention of the Audiovox phone. :( Everyone, check you're zip codes on the Cingular website and report your findings back to us. :D

Interesting. Ok, so that was last updated on the 15th April. If the phone was released then, why are we having so many problems finding an area where this phone is available? :?

UHG - nothing in Milwaukee Wisconsin yet either - come on Cing - get on with it!

Of course you relaize as soon as they release this one, Orange will be fully out with the C550 - sigh. Why are we (in the US) always the last to get the cool phones?

Not on Colorado/Utah either. I figure it'll be a while before the web site gets updated, the stores even know about it or have the phones.

nothing in the Central Illinois (Springfield) area yet.

I would actually rather it not show up here. I have the MPX220 and just dont want to have to buy the SMT 5600 (and I will HAVE to buy it :D ).

Maybe the new firmware update for the MPX220 (if it ever comes out) will make me change my mind.

I have a new Unlocked on that has never even been out of the wrapper. I bought it on eBay and then went to Cingular to get a phone to get the SIM card out of it and use my new Audiovox, damn Cingular does not work in my house! If any one wants to but it let me know. [email protected] This thing is sweet if you hav enever seen it, the phone is worth every penny....if it works in your house!

I've got the SMT 5600 from my ATT account. They recently migrated the My Account site from ATT to Cingular branding but it looks most of the content, including the phone specific stuff, is still coming from the ATT application.

They do throw up a message apologinzing for any inconvenience as the integrate the two systems though, so perhaps progress is being made.

I went into an actual "Cingular" store today and they didn't even know that it was being released under the Cingular plans.

I had my local store order one from the warehouse and they got it in yesterday. It took two days for them to receive. Of course you know how it works I found a guy who was nice and willing to go the extra mile.

Unfortunately I'm letting a friend of mine pick it up because I found out that Cingular does not work in my house, barley in my neighborhood.

Nextel gives me all bars even in my basement.

The AT&T version had Bluetooth COM support. At least, that's how I recall it. I'll have to dig out my 5600 and check. 8)

Yes the AT&T version offered com support but not like this it is super easy like that on a regular pocket PC youi can Access it through Start> Settings > Bluetooh >Bluetooth > Menu > Com Ports Then if the device is allready paired you select it.

well it's all good! WOOHOO - the only (well a couple) of downsides are that Cingular didn't go with the upgraded display (higher res) and that they are charging 249 bucks for this thing when not three months ago you could get tghe EXACT SAME PHONE from amazon.com and ATT for $50! What is up with that?

Well I don't want to wait any longer so off to Cing I go to pay $250 for a once priced $50 phone.

sigh

Yeah I have had mine a week and am still enjoying it. It is so well made compared to....well you know. I have one tiny complaint though. The action button can be a bit of a problem. If I don't press straight down I end up going up, down, left or right.

Other that that, my hat is off to the creators. :D

it's just like using a trackpoint mouse on a laptop

you forget about the first time and it's second nature

I'm geting used to the rocker, after a little while I think it'll be no problem. This device has a nice solid feel. It's really well made, I've bought all kinds of gadgets, from the HP Jornadas when they first came out to Dell Axims etc..(All Microsoft Pocket PC  ) and of all the moble device's I've had this is by far the best! I was listening to the ball game today on it over the internet! It's so cool! I can't believe how tiny it is, this phone is small. Hat's off to HTC they've made one great phone.
I downloaded the owners manual PDF to my Dell Pocket PC so I can read up on the manual for the phone anyplace I go!(what a geek! :D)
I'm driving my wife crazy, all I've done all weekend is play with my new phone. :lol
