I installed Betaplayer 0.5 Stable yesterday, from http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/download.html

When I tried to play a WMV file, it told me it didn't have the codec. When I tried to play an AVI file, it told me it didn't have that codec either. I went to http://betaplayer.corecodec.org/plugins.html and downloaded and installed the plugin pack, and then restarted the phone just to be on the safe side. Nope, didn't play those videos either.

I installed both the program and the plugins on the Storage Card. The videos are on the storage card as well.

Files are playable in WMP.

Also, I'd like recommendations for freeware mp3 players that support playlisting properly.

Betaplayer works great for me, on both my PPC and Smartphone.

Did you try playing those files with Windows Media Player on that unit? Will they play on that program?

I know this is a little late on the draw, but to the original poster who was having problems with Betaplayer (now called TCPMP) and the player not recognizing files:

I had the same exact problem when I had a SanDisk 256 Meg chip in my mpx220. When I upgraded to the 1GB chip, that problem went entirely away.

Like the original poster, I thought that Betaplayer was total junk until after I re-loaded it on the new meory card, and ever since then, it has worked almost flawlessly.
