I wonder how much more battery life you could squeeze out of the phone by disabling Bluetooth during those off-peak times. Has anyone here installed this? You can download a 15 day trial version, or purchase mBlueSchedule for $7.99 <a href="http://www.smartphone.net/smartphonethoughts/software_detail.asp?id=1362">here.</a> [Affiliate]

Short wave radio frequency that can be used as a wireless link to many devices such as
wireless phones
printers
LANs
etc.
Named for some King in Newfoundland or Denmark...
I hope you weren't joking...I'd feel like a poopie head.

Oh crap, now I feel bad. No need to feel like a poppie head. I was in a sarcastic mood earlier. Sorry bout that.
I know what BT is, I just feel a little left out sometimes due to being stuck with Vzw and their antiquated phones. I'm sure a Smartphone and BT will be an option with them in a couple of years, but hopefully Cingular will build out their GSM network sooner than that so I can jump ship.

What's the difference between this and the free BTAutoSync SP available at http://psychoman.co.uk/forum/ ? I tried the free one and it does work.

BTAutoSync will just start the Sync'ing process.

BTAutoSync SP (Bluetooth AutoSync) for Smartphone 2003, is an application which will schedule repeated, automatic ActiveSync over Bluetooth! BTAutoSync SP will 'wake up' at user-defined intervals (as often as every minute) and attempt to locate your Bluetooth/ActiveSync partner desktop (over Bluetooth) and establish an ActiveSync connection.
This application turns on and off your Bluetooth. So, in reality you could use the 2 together. mBlueSchedule to turn on and off your Bluetooth, and BTAutoSync to actually start the sync'ing.
BTW, BTAutoSync looks like a pretty cool app. I've never seen it before.

I just use the simple BT toggle app (also free) to turn on BT with one key. It's available at http://www.modaco.com/Simple_Bluetooth_Toggle_App-t99493-s40.html.

Would be cool if someone could figure out how to combine the 2 and create one app that turns BT on *and* initiates the syncing immeidately thereafter. Obviously, there would have to be some code included to check if a syncable machine was available, 'but'........
