The Zircon Axia A108, the Microsoft Windows CE operating system version, released on April 2 here, retails at $899 and is also touted as the smallest Microsoft Windows CE-based smartphone."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/rloswin4-174043.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />Yes you read that right, it's Windows CE, not Windows Mobile. It looks like an interesting device but it better sing and dance for $900.

This device has really got my interest. Choose your own OS, and run desktop apps. It says that your telecom operator could serve the desktop apps, but I wonder if it would be possible to serve them from your own desktop. That would be ideal

Wapzon appears to sell it for $525 US. Note that this is not an endorsement of Wapzon.com. I've never heard of them.

This is a very interesting, and smart idea from a manufacturing stand-point. They make one device, and can sell it to any OEM that wants to put any OS on it that they like. In theroy, I would expect something like this to reduce the overall cost of the handset. Very cool. :D

I just bought an Axia A108 (for about USD $420), and put my comments here:
