Headset Use i600

Ok maybe I'm an idiot! -

I can't seem to figure out how to activate voice dial with the phone closed. I would like to be able to activate it with the button on the headset - like you would think it would work, but it doesn't.

Is there a setting or something I am missing - It is a pain to use the headset when I can't use voicedial without grabbing the phone, opening it and holding down the "i" key -

Why does the button on the headset try to redial the last number I dialed?

Yeah I have the same problem, according to the booklet I got from Sprint, I should be able to place and receive calls with the wired headset that came with the phone, but so far, I can't do either one. It's got that one button on it, and it seems to be useless. Please help.
