I've got someone to help me do the research on the dept of transportation data so I should have all the available dot images in by the end of the week so if data exists, your city will be included.

By the way, if you email me the links to your state's dept of transportation and maybe a few image URLs for specific traffic cameras that you want, I'll put them into the system same day!

Thanks!

Very effective use of DOT information to your handset.
(Check before driving though!!! :D )

Only 1 teensy request - persistent Map locations, so I don't have to rescroll from the NW corner each time I open TrafficEdge.

5 stars for a simple but effective implementation :)

It includes trafficams by maps and lists, construction alerts, and even overhead warning sign (http://www.artimis.org/images/cms.gif) text.

Fisrt off very cool program. too bad wadot doesn't have a smaller map.

while viewing a camera location -- more than once clicking on the back button -- took me out of the program other times it takes you back to the map page.

Wow! You guys rock. Just look at all the camera links!

I have to add mine too. Here they are for Toronto, Mississauga (Halton), Ottawa, and Niagara (Burlington). All of these are located in Ontario, Canada. ;)

Hi everyone. Thanks for all the links. I'll have all the images in there by EOD today.

One big limitation on trafficedge is that it only really displays images on static URLs. So a lot of the video feeds wont work. And some of the links had text data. I may look into providing text feeds soon, but that'll involve some fun screen scraping that might take a while.

Thanks again for the help. Check out other smartphone/pocketpc freeware at Edgeq.com

I like looking at this on my msn home page for milwaukee, wisconsin:
http://autos.msn.com/everyday/trafficreport.aspx?metro=MKE&src=mymsn
This site isn't bad for Chicago and Milwaukee:

here is a camera:
http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/milwaukee/cam015.htm
and another one:

Here are some good traffic cams for Orange and LA county (Southern
California). These are snapshots (not live video) so they should work
with your application.

This is amazing software! Excellent work. Can you add the San
Francisco Bay Area? Here's the DOT webpage:
http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist4/ and here's the realtime traffic page:

Thanks!

Ok, I found a list of like 300 cameras to add in. Got someone helping me with that. Should be in there soon.

I added in the ones I could find that were easy.

What I really love to add is those colored speed maps. If anyone knows of any I have missed, please let me know. Email me directly at [email protected]

You'll need to do "Update List" on the choose cities screen to refresh

New Cities
Los Angeles
San Francisco
Chicago
Twin Cities, MN
Toronto

Some of them are pretty sparse. And i dont know why this damn SF traffic map isnt showing up on the phone. http://www.sfbaytraffic.info/images/greaterbayarea.png

Might be too big, running out of smartphone memory.

Anyways thanks for all your help. I think in a week, trafficedge will have up to 30 cities in it and 2000 images.

Aw you got me all excited about SF being available. Guess I'll have to wait a bit...do you think you'll have the map issue figured out soon?

Thanks!

Finally got around to trying this out. Very nice. Of course living in Los Angeles I don't have much need for it as everything is always just dead stopped!

Seriously this is a great tool.

Wondering if Rochester, NY can be added. :-)

Got it from here..

Found some more images. I'll add in the rest of new york soon.

City list is getting kind of long as well. I should add some sort of "Choose State" type deal as an option so it's easier to navigate.

New Cities

California
------------------
San Francisco
Orange County
Sacramento
San Diego
San Jose

Other
-------------------
Boston, MA
Chicago, IL
Houston, TX
New Orleans
Phoenix AZ
Rochester NY

Remember to Update List. Please let me know if I messed up any image urls.

Thanks!

I uploaded a new build for TrafficEdge. Use Get Updates from the options menu to download.

By popular demand, scroll state is now being saved. So it'll keep the scroll positions even after closing the app.

Let me know if you see any bugs or have any suggestions.

Thanks

How about adding Music City? Nashville, TN!

My drive is a nightmare right now due to construction - but this could be a real life saver!!

Here is the link for the Nashville tdot cameras....

Hope that is what you need. Heh, I am already starting to forget about Pharos smarttraffic. Great looking program, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for you. It is so refreshing to see a developer that cares...

Thank you for adding Cincinnati to the subscription. However, I cannot seem to get it to work for anything. I've ran the update to get the latest version. (Incidentally, it always says I have an old version and asks if I want to download the update. I assumed it was a small bug or is it an issue with my install?) I've also tried restarting the phone a few times. When I try and load Cincinnati all I get is a blank screen. Any ideas?

BTW, I noticed that all your applications I have tried have an 'Exit' in the main menu. Thank you. Even though I have and use a task manager, it's a lot easier to just 'Exit' an application than to return to the Home Screen, invoke the Task Manager, and hunt down any tasks that you want to kill.

Thanks again!
