Rookie Question i600

I'm waiting for my i600 from eBay. I am running Office 2000, with Win98 on an older Thinkpas A20P P3 750. My i600 is coming with the win outlook 2002.

Q: can I upgrade the i600 to the 2003 version to fix mic volume problem, caller ID problem etc/ without upgrading to outlook 2003 on my laptop????

Major work to upgrade to Office 2003 for my Thinkpad win 98.
I would need win 2000 or better to update. I'm tired of keeping up with the software update BS. Mt laptop runs great with 98.

Yes you can. Windows Mobile 2003 has no connection to the version of software running on your machine. 8)

You can't do the upgrade on your phone yourself - at least I don't think you can. You need the carrier to do the upgrade.

I upgraded my i600 from 2002 to 2003. That was back in July or thereabouts, so I don't remember the details. Search the archives for everything about this upgrade.

Yeah it was a do it yourself upgrade at the time. I don't know if it still is. A lot of phones got messed up in the process. Even phones upgraded in Verizon stores.
