I'm new to smartphones but familiar with Pocket PCs. I've read many posts on changing your homescreen by using Homescreen Designer. What I can't figure out is why is it so difficult? It seems like there's coding you have to do or am I just missing the point? I haven't tried the program but my 5600 from AT&T has very few layouts available. I have tried Battery Pack Pro but I'm still limited to the layouts on my smartphone. I like the icons but if I use them, I'm still limited by the layouts on the phone.
What I would like is a top layer of icons to launch programs. I'd like a layer with my upcoming calendar entries. I don't want the sports, entertainment, etc. bar that comes with the AT&T layout. Is there a plug in I can buy to do this?
