Their last generation Bluespoon Chameleon headset was the smallest one we’ve seen, yet they managed to make even smaller and lighter Bluespoon headset. The Bluespoon AX, the 3 rd generation wireless headset offered by Nextlink, has the latest Bluetooth wireless headset technology and sells for an affordable price. Looking like a shrunk down version of the Chameleon, the Bluespoon AX comes in at only 1.5 inches in length and 0.35 oz. (10 grams) in weight. It is indeed the smallest Bluetooth headset."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Temporale-20050208-BluespoonAXSmale.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />We've posted on the Bluespoon AX a couple times before, but I never fully grasped how small it is. It is just amazing how much they can pack into such a small space. I don't have a Bluetooth headset and I don't really have a reason for why I haven't purchased one yet. I've been thinking about it, and occasionally looking at them on the web and in stores. I've just never acted upon it. I like small, and I don't think there will be much coming out in the future that is going to top this in size! What does everyone think? Any headsets that I should avoid?

Yes, there is. NextLink (same company that makes the Bluespoon AX) is in the works of making the Bluespoon 5G, which makes the AX looks big!!. There will be very limited production on them, and it works on some kind of jawbone technology, but the price is sustantially higher than the AX. The 5G should go for about $250.

I am with you on this one. I haven't bought a BT headset and haven't a clue whats keeping me from it. I do alot of driving and think it would be great, plus i am a big gamer on consoles and think not stopping a game to answer my phone would be nice.

This thing is quite small and could almost be undetectable with longer hair or a hat. I never did care for the sci-fi communicator look of most headsets out.
With the blue glow coming from my ear it might cause a problem at night in the car. LOL!

This one is nice and plain. If it will work on my MPX220 and my (sorry to say this guys) New treo 650 i might have to buy it.

The article doesn't mention it working with the MPx220? not that it doesn't just not tested. Does anyone have it that can confirm it pairs nicely with the 220?

$250! 8O Ya, I don't think that's going to happen. Not from my wallet anyway.

Ok, that's a lot smaller, but for the difference in price, I just don't see it as a reasonable alternative.

It should pair with the MPx220. I can'tsee any reason why it wouldn't.

If you read the article on the 5G it states that the added bonus is the lLEDs shine through two real diamonds.....apparently very, very small diamonds. Must be flawless for that price! LOL!

Did anyone check out the support site/FAQ page for the Bluespoon headset?

They mention two things worth noting:

1. There appears to be a 'unreleased' Motorola MPx300 model phone which has been tested with the devices.

They also say that the: QTEK/SPV/Imate/O2:, JAM (NEW), SPV E200, QTEK 2020/SPV M1000, QTEK 9090 and the QTEK 8020/Imate SP3i

All have issues with WM2003 and that an update is being worked on by Microsoft.

* Microsoft 2003 mobile Operative System phones. Voice features do not yet work fully on these models. MS is working on an upgrade of the Bluetooth part.

The FAQ page is here: http://www.blue-spoon.com/bluespoon.asp?top=bs&amp;sideid=105&amp;menuiconid=2#spm9

The article may not mention it, but the FAQ page does say it supports the MPx220 (sans 'voice dailing').

Look at my previous post for the FAQ page.

Funny that they don't mention the i-mate SP3/C500/SMT5600 line of phones, but they do mention the SP3i - it's cousin... :?

Voice dialing would be cool, but I don't think I would be terribly upset if I could do it from my headset. And since this is a Mircosoft problem, it would/should effect all the different Bluetooth headsets, not just this one.

Actually, the 5G won't have jawbone technology. It was thought at first that the 5G would have it, but Nextlink confirmed that it will not. That technology can only be found in their wired earpiece. They aren't able to get the jawbone tech to work with the 5G right now.

And the price of the 5G will be more around $400 USD when it's available to the general public. The cheaper $225 USD price is only for beta testers of the 5G. Nextlink reports that only about 1000 units will be made.

Those small diamonds were installed special by Nextlink just as a favor to Bengalboy (Mark Morrow) for his 5G. They won't come standard on anyone else's 5G. Of course, perhaps Nextlink may offer customization like this to the public, but at a premium. Then again, they may not. Later on, we'll know if this option is available.
