Are you sinking in debt after the holidays? Angry with yourself for already breaking your New Year's resolutions? Wish you could crawl back under the covers and not have to face another day of rain, sleet, snow and paperwork? Probably. After all, it's Jan. 24, the “most depressing day of the year,” according to a U.K. psychologist. Dr. Cliff Arnall's calculations show that misery peaks Monday."</i><br /><br />I've always found that from January until the end of March is the low point of the year. There are no holidays, and the weather is never very nice. So, I can see where he's coming from, but I don't think I could pin it all on one day of the year. Oh well, on the bright side, it can only get better, and we have a full year ahead of us. :D

I think he needs a change of address. It is bright sunshine (as ususal) and in the low fifties here. Just right to be outside and time to start planning the veggie garden. (and isn't the Super Bowl some type of "holiday" for some of us?)

He should move further south.

Here in Australia it is mid-summer. The sun is shining, the beaches are beautiful, the water is warm - and we get a holiday on Wednesday to celebrate Australia Day - (the First Fleet arrived from merry old England on 26th Jan 1788).

I think that takes care of all the negatives mentioned in the article :-)

David

To me, january - march is the best period in a year.

Annual bonus and EBIT sharing are in january.
Salary increase is in march.
Performance review and promotion are in march.
Low volume of work at the beginning of the year ...
