Motorola Discontinues Contract with Taiwan Handset Makers

Given all the problems Motorola has faced with their Windows Mobile-based MPx220, it was only a matter of time before some action had to be taken. I am a little surprised that they have decided to bring it in house. I would have been more inclined to talk to HTC, but what do I know.

I wonder if the development, manufacturing and testing, were all outsourced or just the manufacturing.

Anyway, they definitely need to figure out the testing. With the MPx220 I haven't noticed any hardware or manufacturing glitches. But lots of software bugs that testing could have ironed out. :roll:

I hope not that the Taiwanese guys are being made the scapegoat for the MPx "series" fiasco. I strongly feel that it is a Motorola mangement problem. And they have had that with there other products as well.

How about they just hire a bunch of us to test the next phone since we knew long before they did what the problems were.

Even if they don't hire us. Just listen to what we have to say. I am still mad at the fact that Howard Chui and Bengal Boy reviewed the phone a month or so before the launch and they still launched the phone with the problems that were stated in the review. :roll: :twisted:

What was the point of giving them the Smartphones? Just to create a buzz? More hype? How greedy can you get?

And if they are listening now, all I have to say is, I want the next ROM as a user downloadble/installable file.

It doesn't matter where they make the phones. If they don't care about quality, they will make the same junk in any location. The desire for quality is inversely proportional to the desire to make a quick profit.
