OK folks... I just got a new MPX220 last week from amazon.com w/ 1-yr cingular contract. I want to use the phone to the fullest. Which miniSD do you guys recommend for this phone? And do have you found that 256MB is enough or should I just go for 512MB? I plan on installing many apps and mp3s.

If you can direct me where to get the best price that would be great too.

Thanks in advance.

Prices are always changing, so it's hard to say who has the best price right now. I ordered mine from eCost last week. Try using PriceGrabber from the homepage. It shows 512MB for $70 something...

IF you're planning on installing lots of applications and music, then I think the larger card makes sense. Of course, it's really how much you can afford.

two places come to mind:

http://www.meritline.com/pqi-minisd-card-512mb.html - has the PQI - 512MB miniSD card for like $49 (plus shipping) which is a very good deal. but beware that they have a very bad habbit of not telling people that the item is backordered. so if you dont mind waiting a week or two, then that'd be your best (and cheapest) bet.

on the other hand...

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=84011 - has the ATP - 512MB miniSD card for $64 which includes 2nd day shipping.

-what it boils down to is if you dont mind waiting for your card, then I'd get it from Meritline. otherwise ZipZoomFly would be a very good alternative.

I ordered mine from Zipzoomfly this afternoon. Seems like a good deal and so far very easy to deal with.

Got my 512MB ATP card from ZipZoomFly yesterday. MUCH more pleased with it than with my 256MB SanDisk, which I had plenty of problems with (see this topic (http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7355&start=0&sid=cc1dfe59421df66f892933976d3abe65)). $64 is a great price and you get 2-day FedEx shipping on top of it!

I just got my 512 ATP from eCost yesterday. So far everything looks good - I'm still busy loading applications and files.

I noticed that in the description, it says "Regular Speed". What exactly does this mean? My MPx220 hasn't arrived yet, just a few more days to go, I would like to buy either a 256mb or a 512mb card.

It's the same concept as getting a 16x CD ROM versus a 28x CD ROM. Or for those of you, like me, that were around to remember when CD ROMs were just CD ROMs and there was no such thing as 2x, 3x, etc...
