why cant edit names or numbers on my MPx220?

I want to edit a name or something like that. normally I would just hit some sort of clear button or hit the backspace then hit a clear button but for some reason I cant do that on my phone.

for example, the phone has five factory preset speed dial settings and I want to edit the 2nd to the 5th option but for some reason, I cant edit the preset factory names or numbers. I can only add to whats already there but I cant delete any of the letters or numbers.

its like I can add text to a name or number thats already there but I'm not able to "go back" and delete letters or numbers.

can someone tell me how I can edit those names and numbers?

I am not sure you know but you can also set the presets as programs.
For instance have number 2 preset as your call history or file browser.

Editting the names and numbers should be as easy as selecting the number you want to edit and hit Edit.

I am not sure why you are not able to do this.
Once you are in the edit screen just hit the back arrow and it should delete the last entry.

I hope you figure it out i have had no problem editting my contacts.

Changing the speed dial is also a simple fix.
Just select the contact you want and hit menu then hit add speed dial and change to the number you want.
