This is great news for Microsoft and the Windows Mobile camp. I didn't think we would ever see the likes of LG in the Windows Mobile camp. :D Unfortunately, in order to read the full article, you need a membership with Telcoms Korea. :(

I am just happy to hear the word Magneto...Magneto..Magneto!

I agree, LG joining the Smartphone bandwagon is great news. How can the big-wigs let HTC enjoy all the success. ;-)

Magneto is the codename for the mysterious Windows Mobile 2005. A part of the mystery was uncovered when the details of this upcoming Windows Mobile OS were leaked out. You can do a Google to uncover the sites that are still carrying info. But most were requested by Microsoft to take down the info.

Bottomline, I have already started saving money for buying a Smartphone based on this new OS. Which hopefully will be available some time in the last quarter. Maybe earlier.

From what I saw in the images it looks very polished up. I can't wait to dump another $$$$ on a new phone :D

It will be the third major version: 2002, 2003..2005. And we all know that Microsoft gets things right in the third version. ;-)

I'm more worried about Motorola than I am MS

Agreed. Moto needs to get the 3rd gen smartphone right too and put Magneto in it. I don't plan on updating the OS in my MPx220 but I do plan to get another smartphone (cingular) that offers Magneto as long as its not a candybar phone  I just don't like them.

Any news on when MS is going to finally announce the new OS? I've heard May-ish...

I think it will be announced sooner than that. When we see the phones is anybodys guess.

Best guess would be at this years MDC. At last years MDC, Microsoft announced Second Edition. So I think it only makes sense. AS for when that is, I think it was around mid March.

Check out this CNet Video (http://news.com.com/1606-2-5517033.html) on LG phones. It does not show any Windows Mobile phones from LG, but it shows that LG does experiment with different styles and form factors. LG will be a great add to the Windows Mobile team.
