I'm aware of the in car charging taboo... is this true about charging my phone via the USB cable that comes with the MPx220? I don't really want to fry my battery.

Thanks,

Scott

Car Charging is wrong? I haven't done it with my new 5600 yet, but there will come a time when I do. I'm not concerned about that.

As for charging with the supplied cable, if it came in the box, there should be zero cause for concern. If something bad was to happen while using the supplied cable, I would expect the warrenty to take care of that.

In short, you shouldn't have any problems using the supplied cable to change your device. :D

The car chargers tend to fry batteries.

But I use the MPx220 USB cable and USB car adapter a lot to charge the MPx220.

I've alwasy heard that if you use the cigarette charger alot, it will shorten the life of the battery. That is what I mean by the 'Taboo"

I haven't heard it. But can't claim that it is incorrect.

Anyway for me it is fine. Since there is a new Smartphone every 6months to a year, the battery replacement is expensive, but works out well. ;-)

I hadn't heard of this either. Like Kris, I have never had a phone outlive its battery.

So the USB cable works for charging the phone too? Does anyone know if that will also work using the Motorola splitter to charge a BT headset?

Thanks,
~lj

I would have to say no... the data pins will get in the way.
