We attempted to contact the Celluloco guys for clarification, when Gears from CoolSmartphone.com posted about this last week, . However they have not replied to us. Celluloco's actions are down right disgusting. Not only should Celluloco be giving credit to Kleinweder, they should also be seeking his permission to redistribute this amazing work. :evil:

That is amazing! I never really thought too much of Celluloco anyway (remember, they were selling Moto MPx220s for like $1400 a few months ago!). But this is downright crazy. I assume Kleinweir knows about this?

Just to play devil's advocate here;

I guess the 'celluloco.com' watermark is to stop deep linking - which does give the impression of having designed the themes, but can anybody confirm that the actual installed theme has the branding on it?

Also, Celluloco say that they have compiled the themes and not actually designed them. There is a difference (check out the Compilation albums in the shop).

So the way I see it, Celluloco are guilty of stealing someone else's work and gaining from it without their permission, but I don't think they're guilty of rebranding and claiming that the designs are their own.

Though I could be wrong since I've not installed any themes downloaded from Celluloco.

No, I haven't installed them, and I have no plans to do so. I think you are right, the watermark is just to prevent someone from stealing from them, ironically enough.

I would say compile is the act of building and assembling, especially in the computer world. I think a better term for them to use would be collect.

I agree that they have not done any rebranding. However, they don't have the authors permission, and they also have not given credit to the author. Which I would considered stealing. That's my understanding of the copyright laws. (I'm not a lawyer, and I don't play one on TV ;) )
