Im looking for a bluetooth headset and I see the Motorla HS810 everywhere, but I can never find the HS850, the only time I see it is if its on a UK site. Two questions, is the HS850 UK avalible only, and can it still be used with any bluetooth headset or is it like most UK/US products, by that I mean, region coded.

According to the review (link below) it is supposed to be launched at the end of this year.

Note the colors: US version will be blue and UK version will be black. I prefer the black version. :-(

Also take a look at the Logitech Freedom Mobile headset.

so does the euro version work with american phones? also, I think the MPX220 euro version is black also, from what I remember reading somewhere, do euro phones work in the States or are they region coded?

I am 100% sure they will be compatible.

For some reasons Moto believes that UK crowd is conservative. And the American crowd is hip. ;-) Choice of colors is just marketing gimmick.

They really should make one color and offer it up. I prefered the darker colored MPx220 but whatever I just want Cingular to launch it with the right FW then I will worry about color.

I have the HS810 and would have liked the black HS850 but will take a blue one.

I mean between the 810 and 850

850 is compliant with BT v1.2 whereas 810 is v1.1.

I believe v1.2 gives you better voice quality and battery life WHEN paired with a v1.2 compliant device.

None of the new Smartphones (MPx220, C500 etc) have v1.2, they all are on v1.1. :-(

So bottomline the 850's only major benefit is improved battery life even in v1.1. And in v1.2 mode it should be even better.

In that case I want a black one :)

The question now becomes will Moto add BT1.2 into their next FW for the MPx220 or is that not even possilbe, meaning hardware only?

I don't know if its possible or not. Even if it was, I wouldn't hold my breath.
