Anybody get totally weird readings with xbar's temperature gauge?

Mine says it's like 500deg Farenheit.
Even when it was at Celcius it was way of the charts.

And with thermo, I don't get a temperature reading at all. It shows the gauge between 200deg C & Max 240deg C, but no actual reading of the temperature. Just a small "0" on the bottom 1/3rd of the gauge.

Any clues?

What version are you using?

The new 2.4 version has a fix for the C500/SMT5600 temp sensor. So your has to be version 2.2 or 2.3.

NOTE: It is in Beta.

But I have been using it on SP3i and MPx220 for 3 weeks or so without problems.

I'm using xBar 2.4 (beta) and I'm trying to figure out how to change the Celsius to Fahrenheit on my SMT5600.

Never mind, I read the readme text file, I added a "TEMPTYPE=1" line in the xbar.ini file and all is good.

xbar is a great little app.

I still have trouble with it. It periodically locks up my action button. I'm sure it is the cause, as I dont have the problem when it's not installed.

Now that you mention it, I think I have had that problem as well on occasion.

Is xbar that much better than the built in task manager on the 5600? I never used it on my old phone, and since the 5600 has a task manager, I just don't see the need for another one. My phone has not locked at all since I got it. Maybe xbar introduces the instability that demands the use of xbar to fix.

Before xbar I had problems running the camera or games; not enough memory.

Then I would have to reboot (quickest way) to clear up the memory.

Now I use xbar, not for the quick access to the calculaotor, etc, but to clear out unused programs from memory.

It's worked really well for me. Sure occasionaly I press the select button/bar down too long and the xbar menu pops up, that's not a problem in my book.

I use Xbar for switching between apps.
I rarely use it as task manager.
And the other cool feature, copy-paste!

Copy-Paste.... Now that is something that I could use! 8)

weird. where did you get the app? did you have xbar already installed?

both versions from http://xetranet.free.fr/spv/thermo/ give the results described above.

they just emailed me this link, which is specifically for the c500???

http://www.mobismart.net/telechargement/download.asp?download=44&cat=2

but how do I install the _setup.xml and 00cab27E.001 files?

I used the second link you posted. Copy that .cab file to your phone someplace then navigate to it with a file explorer and execute it. It will install the app. You can also just copy it to the start menu and click on it there. In either case the cab file will be gone after installation so keep a copy!

Aha! I'm retarded! I didn't realize I had to simply install the compressed CAB file, for some reason I though I had to use/install one of the extracted files within!

Thank you!

I'm noticing that:
1) the temperature reading on Thermo is 31°C, max= 31°C, min=31°C, yet it is only 20°C in the room right now. How do I correct/calibrate this?
2) the .CAB file is still on the phone after installation?

Hmmm, they used to disappear after installation. I looked for that registry entry and its not there. I'm guess you have to add it. i'm gonna try it now.

Well the registry entry doesn't seem to do anything.
