You may also know the device under the Audiovox name as the SMT5600 or as the SPV C500. The SP3 is a small cell phone that packs a punch...that punch being Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition for Smartphone."</i><br /><br />Lately I've been so enthralled with my MPx220  that I had forgotten there are other phones out there.

The 5600 comes with WMP 10. Does this device come with 10 as well?

Thanks Dinesh_H, didn't know that MobilePlanet was carrying the i-mate Smartphones.

$599 for SP3i is pricey. eXpansys is cheaper.

Found the SP3 listing on the Mobile Planet for $499.

o.k. 499/599 does sound like a big price.

Consider under AT&T the phone sells for (Amazon, $149) or at AT&T either $249 or $199 depending on several factors.

This rocks and so does the phone! No more PDA for me.

the first red flag on expandability for me is miniSD as I would really like to use WiFi with the phone in some applications and would like to be able to use the SD cards I already have bought and use with all my other device. The second red flag is the location of the miniSD slot, which is under the battery.

I can't agree more. :( Fortunately, even with these 2 red flags, it's still better than anything else currently on the market in the US.

On MPx220, even though the miniSD slot is external. It is a pain to open the plastic cover and pop the card out. So not sure which is worse. ;-)

But for folks who are into music and videos, external miniSD slot is a must.

As for me I use it only for applications, so I am fine either way.

The SP3i is exactly the same as the SP3 in this area. In fact, in most areas, these are the same. Ant the SP3i that's on the market in the US is not the 850 MHz version... :(
