For data-centric devices Microsoft led in the quarter with 45% share globally, up from 40% a year earlier, with PalmSource on 29%, down from 45% in Q3 2003."</i><br /><br />Canalys research has released their quarterly report on the state of the worldwide handhled and mobile device market. According to their report, voice centric devices (ie: smartphones and "feature" phones) saw a 190% increase in shippments. While data centric devices only had a 18% increase. I think this is a clear indication that the Windows Mobile Smartphone is here to stay, and it is not about to be rolled into the Pocket PC line. However, I won't rule out the possibility of seeing Microsoft role the Pocket PC line into Smartphone. :D
