For serious..."</i><br /><br />It sounds goofy at first, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense - especially in societies where SMS is prevalent.

I can't see this being all that successful. Think of how long it takes you to text a message, and then think how long it would take you in an emergency when the pressure is on. Oh, and don't forget that we aren't just talking about texting the word help. You'll also need name and location information so help can find you.
