I haven't tried downloading the kit. It includes the eVC4.0 which is free. But then it is Native C++ coding. And for the .NET programming you are right, developers have to shell out. :-(

Wish Microsoft could put out an Express Mobile edition of the VS.NET for us developers.

yes, i expect the evc4 w/ 2003 kits will stay round, last i heard there wouldn't be a Smartphone V.Next SDK out for evc4, which is a pitty as i quite like it.

i agree it would be nice if there was a mobile edition of VS. but it's a big beasty with lots of work gone into it, so they have to cover costs.
