Opera has just made the technical preview (beta) version of this browser available for download. So if you're interested in testing this out, or just want to give something new a try, head on over and download it.

And now for the standard "mother" speech: This is a pre-release version. It could potentially cause serious problems for your device and may ultimately force you to hard reset. You should only install beta software if you are an experienced beta-tester. Oh, and make sure you backup your device first!

Now get out of here and go download your software.

Installing went fine, works fine...no issues so far...

I have few screen shots for your viewing pleasure.

Installation also went well on my SPV C500. I installed it to my mini-SD card.

Start up a tad slow but WOW, when you get browsing it does a great job of rendering pages and holy smoke it's quick!

The first page I opened (www.bbc.co.uk) opened so fast I thought it had opened a cached version from somewhere!

The lack of bookmarks is a bit limiting but the rendering technology obviously work well :)

Can't wait for the full version...

And the Pocket PC version!

Ya, ya... I'm a little slow on this. I snapped some shots yesterday, and never got around to uploading them. So here they are. :)

This image shows Opera in the process of downloading SPT. I really like the progress bar along the bottom. 8)

And here we see the finished product.

All in all, it's a nice browser. Although, it is slow to launch, and does get hung up on occasion. But, just give it 3 or 4 minutes and it sorts itself out. Again, I would not install this unless you are prepared to hard reset your device. It's not a finished product by any means.

If you haven't already, check out how much memory this thing sucks up!!!

With XBar 2 installed, memory usage went from 40% to 95% on my mpx200! My notifications would mot fire afterwards, I think there was memory issues starting a new program.

Ok, maybe it's just me, but how do you click on a link? I can load a page no problem, but if I want to click a link on that page, I can't figure how.

Press left or right to move between links. Personally, I prefer the PIE way, but each has their advantages (I wish there was an option to allow you use either method, though).

Damn, I thought I tried that. Guess not. Thanks!

This way provides a smoother scroll expereince. Which is nice, but click links is a little confusing.
