So even when your clamshell phone is closed, you still have full access to all the information on the screen. A very good idea, and also good news for companies that make screen protectors. "</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Temporale-20041005-DualScreenLCD.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />This is a interesting idea. I wonder if it can be as bright as a regular screen? Won't the image be reversed when it's viewed from the outside. So it would be no good for displaying names and numbers. :?

eh, simple, just invert the display when the phone is closed. not too hard.

This has moved amazingly fast from research to marketing. It has only been a few months since they initially published this innovation.

Thank god for the hypercompetition environment of the mobile phone handset :rock on dude!:

I still think it would be sweet if someone would make a clamshell smartphone where the display could pivot and collapse over the keys to make a mini tablet (requiring stylus entry) ala the Sony Nx series of PDA's.

You mean like the Samsung SGH-i500 / SGH-i505? 8) It's a Palm, though...

Bastards stole my idea  Yes that is exactly what I'm talking about, but with Smartphone 2003 instead

Interesting concept.

But doesn't this defeat the clamshell advantage: built-in screen protector?
