This is something I would like to see on a Smartphone. Especially on the devices that focused on the enterprise, like MPx220, and the Voq Professional. With all the power of today's mobile phones, a simple key lock is not going to keep someone from accessing the device.

Personally I don't like the idea of having to scan my finger to access the phone/pda. But including the scanner on the phone has its benefits. Mike, you had posted a news item on how Mobile Phones Will Replace Wallets. (http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5927) Well I think this finger scanning tech on phone + the phone itself can be used at the checkout counters. The finger scan will replace the need for PIN and will make the transaction more secure or valid.

oh, nice idea. Imagine having an ewallet on your phone or pda. Then whenever you use it, you place your finger on the scanner and it approves your transaction, and transfers the money from your account to the vendors. But then you hand the phone to your wife, she uses it to buy something and places her finger on the reader. It now approves her, and transfers the funds from her account. That would be very cool.
