For those of you who have upgraded . . .

What are your first impressions of the upgrade? Do you like? Are you getting better battery life? Is life good?

One downside-Phone is no longer customizable as far as themes from your desktop with apps like theme generator...

Menu's pop a little quicker. Haven't tried the new PIE or Inbox yet. WMP looks like it has a new UI. There's now a speed Dial option (was there one before?) and of course a new game. Just did the upgrade about 30 minutes ago. Was fairly easy as long as you pay attention to the instructions

I now have WM2003 on my phone (the PDA side upgrade, apparently not the Phone side upgrade).

The phone is _so_ much more responsive. It's like the difference between a sluggish, half-though-out device, and a good one.

The only sluggishness I get now is trying to make a phone call while a web page is loading. When I press and hold "1," it takes a few seconds to get things together. Sometimes.

But I love the fact that I can be on the Internet and still send and receive calls.

Anyone else notice that it takes a while for the call to disconnect after hanging up? Sometimes it takes two to three button presses before I see it disconnect.

Wierd.

Aside from that, the whole thing feels a bit faster plus I can run @sat (orbiter tracking program that wouldn't work with 2002) on it now. :)

you can still use those themes, you just have to manually load them onto the phone, the MS theme generator will not load them.

Where would I find Kleinweder's theme generator?

I am getting a "Speed dial was broken and has been repaired" message quite frequently when using that feature... Anyone else?

1) Does anyone else notice the auto-locking feature still does not work at the time length your specify?

2) I like to rearrange my "Start" list, but now many of them cannot be moved. With the old OS, all shortcuts could be moved into folders. Very annoying!

Overall ... I like the improvements. The voice and data at the same time is awesome! That is my favorite improvement, and finally makes the Verizon Wireless unlimited data plan viable.

I finally found some time to play with the new OS. With the inclusion of SSL for Inbox I can finally check my email . . . YES !!!! Just that improvement alone coupled with minor UI tweaks has made the upgrade worthwhile. Looks like I will be keeping my smartphone afterall :D Oh yeah I'll 2nd that whole data/voice at the same time to.

All of the above is great- PLUS the phone now has the Automatic profile setting. I missed that the most when I switched from the MPx200 to the i600.

The only time I saw this error message is when I restored a backup image on to my Smartphone MPx200 (SP2002) and tried to use the Speed Dial for the first time. I never saw it after the first Speed Dial use.
