Motorola Shows Off The New i930 Smartphone

While we spent most of the day dreaming that the MPx220 will be released soon, Motorola quietly started to show off the i930. <br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Moto_i930.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />The Motorola i930 features a built-in camera, a huge external display, Push-To-Talk, and Java, running Windows Mobile for Smartphone 2003 SE. There is no word on when it will be available, or what the price will be. Looks like Nextel is going to get a Smartphone after all. :D

Surprised that it doesnt have IR 8O and bluetooth.

I hope the pricing is &lt;$400 as mentioned in the post last year. I would hate to see $500+ price as in the case of Sprint and Verizon Smartphones.

Love that external screen. Reading the Caller Id info will be easy. Not to mention Photo Id on the external screen :-)

i need this phone. My i95cl has seen better days. I was told that this will be released in december

:lol: I am chomping at the bit to get my hands on this. The Nextel Crackberry costs too much in monthly service fees for the e-mail features. Something that will sync with my PC is fine and it will then reduce my hardware from an i95 cl and Toshiba e740 to one tasty looking unit.

Any chance it has a SD slot?

from the images ive seen of pre production i930s, yes it does have a SD slot, but it may be minisd

yes it does have a SDslot and yes it is the best phone yet and yes i have one.. i got it from overseas do a ebay search you will find a few that have them now otherwise you have to wait till 9-30 to get one and they will cost ~~ 395.99 with 2 year contract

Nextel, Won't you please release the i860, get the bugs worked out on the i930 and tell us when it will be available.

At least I know the dual desktop charging base will be compatible with the i830. Some validation that it will exist some point in the future is found at Nextel's site under accessories for the i830. Click on dual pocket desktop charger and read where is states its compatible with the i930.

Folks with the i730 sorry it will only be compatible with the 830, 860 & 930.
