If you live in the US then you might want to take a look at RSSHome.com. I'm not sure how this works, or why there is a different install file for each US carrier? Since I don't live in the US, I assume I can't use the service. However, I would love to see a screen shot of this application in action. If any of you have tested this out, please reply here and let us know your thoughts.

from what i understand, the only difference between these versions is the branding logo it shows on your homescreen

This is the first RSS reader that I've used period so it appears to be doing a good job I guess!
But since its a beta you're unable to add your own feeds.
Also I have taken some screen shots but how do you post them?

I can post them here if you like. Just email me Mike AT SmartphoneThoughts dot com and I can upload them. However, normally you would need to have a website of your own to upload them to.

I stand corrected on not being able to add new feeds, my problem was
I was entering an incorrect password.

I added both Smartphone and Pocketpcthoughts, Cool!

Good! It would have been a total waste if you can't customize it.

That's the way!

I would have expected that the home screen overlay would have support transparency. It would look much better.

A little late in the response but... Would it not be better to pragmatically determine the carrier and then display the appropriate logo?
