When I try to install my modem on my laptop for my Samsung i600 SmartPhone, I get an exclamation point on my modem on the device manager. It says it is not working properly, or it does not have the modem drivers needed. I installed it exactly as it says to do. I have the cradle, the usb plug (it all came with the phone), everything. I am running Windows98 Second Edition, and am using Verizon. Are there any experts out there that can help me. You can email me at [email protected]. I would REALLY appreciate your help!

Rick, welcome to SPT.com.

I am guessing that Win 98 is not supported. I was checking out the USB driver INF file, even though it is marked as Win9x compatible driver, it does not have the necessary sections for a successful install on Win98. From the driver (INF) file it seems the modem driver will work only on Win2K and above.

I hope you already tried the following instructions..

Please call Verizon support and confirm from them if the driver will work on Win98 or not. I don't have access to a 98 machine otherwise would have confirmed my statement.
