The numbers for February are in and the users in the United Kingdom sent more than 2 billion text messages - an average of 71 million per day! A peak of 75 million were sent on St. Valentine's Day.

I can top that. In 2003 the 64,78 million cell phone users in Germany sent 25.5 billion SMSes and 95 million MMSes. Woo-hoooooo!! :rock on dude!:

Edit: Ooops, OK, it's around the same number as in the UK, since the number you have is for Feb. only and mine are for the whole last year. I didn't read your post right :oops:

Edit #2: (Like I have nothing better to do... :roll: ) We DO write more SMSes (40), right after the Spanisch (50) and before the Brits (35).
That great source (http://www.news-handy.de/2004/Februar.html) I found does not state what these numbers refer to, but I think monthly SMS/user. My guess is that we would write more, but with 20 Euro cents per SMS we pay more than anyone else in Europe :evil:
