This time it's pictures of the new Motorola MPx100. I think everyone will be surprised at just how small and thin this phone is. Hats off to Motorola. They have done an excellent job on the MPx and MPx100. Not only are these devices running the latest and greatest version of the OS, they do it in an amazing new form factor. There is no doubt in my mind that Motorola is committed to the Windows Mobile platform. :way to go:

This so looks like a worthy candidate for replacing my T610. It looks very nice, and has all the specs I like in a Mobile Phone. Great!

After seeing images of the MPx100, i thought it would be pretty small, but it was a bit lager than i expected in 'real life'.

The software build they had at CeBIT was a bit flaky (but as it was only a pre-release for demo purposes so that was fair enough), have to say i preferred the joystick on the HTC Tanager model though...

The main thing I was hoping for was the Widcomm Smartphone Bluetooth stack, but it it was the Microsoft implementation :(, although there was no 'Connect Via Bluetooth' option displayed in ActiveSync...

Still a nice enough handset, although using 'regular sized' SD rather than mini would have been preferable

Are any of the new handsets using the 'regular sized' SD anymore? I thought Mitac and the others we using mini-SD as well?

As for the Bluetooth, hopefully since Moto went out of their way to add more profiles than MS normally supports, they paid some attention to tuning the BT stack as well. :)

true looks like most are going with mini - Panasonic also said their MS Smartphone would use mini-SD - I'd just prefer to be able to use the SD cards I already have instead of going out to buy new mini-SD cards - plus their capacity will likely be lower (initially) compared to available 'regular sized' SD...

yeah - this definitely pre-release software as it had a few 'surprises' that would need to be ironed out - so hopefully the Bluetooth will be fine-tuned as well - the Bluetooth capabilities would play a big role for me choosing my next MS Smartphone

NOOOOOOOOOO!

Not mini-SD - WHY!?!?

I was so looking forward to being able to swap my SD cards from my Camera to my PPC to my PHONE - but I guess not with this model!

All I want is a smartphone - 2003OS with a SDIO slot and Bluetooth - IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?!?!?

:bad-words:

Maybe not. Looks like the new phones are half-and-half when it comes to miniSD.

These appear to have the full slots:

The BenQ has BT, 2003, and SD/MMC, but I don't like the keyboard:

Sagem myS-7:

These appear to have mini-SD:

looks like the E200 (Tanger) for me then - *sigh* I was so hoping for a flip phone form factor. I would have gone with the VOQ - but no bluetooth... and now the craze on the mini SD - no way. Why can't we just live with the SD for a while? What's so wrong with that form factor?

Sorry - just dumping...
