Use your .wav file as a ring tone.
If you put your wav in the Windows folder (with all the standard ring sounds) then it can be selected in the settings area as your ring.
BUT
When you change batteries on the phone the file gets deleted and you get the 'Ascending' tone instead (1st alpha?).
SO
1. Put the wav file in "IPSM/Application Data/Sounds"
2. Select the sound in settings area.
