Service Problems

I seem to be having problems during conversations where I can't hear the other caller for 2-3 seconds and then they come back - happens several times during a conversation. Tried doing a *228 to update the phone but didn't seem to help.

Located in Upstate New York. Anyone else having similiar problems?

What does '*228' do?

Just updates your phone for either new roaming towers or new software. It is a Verizon thing they ask you to do every month or so.
