When residents in the area where the tower would be installed complained about the look of a cell tower in the neighborhood, T-Mobile got creative. Instead of your typical monopole tower, they are disguising the tower as a 55-foot tall palm tree.

That's a great idea! I live in a city with ordinances that restrict towers. This would be a great way to get around it. What else could they disguise their towers as?

Massachusetts has several that are "supposed" to be pine trees. I personally think they stand out more than if they had just left them alone. They are the lamest looking pine trees I've ever seen!

Oh Please! I'd rather have them save the damn money and improve operations and coverage then spending it on aesthetics

We have a few of the PINE TREES in NJ as well. It makes sense in a heavily wooded area where you dont want a big metal tower sticking out of the top, but there are a couple I've seen before that just stand there on their own, especially in the winter when many of the non-pines in the area are bare.

How about a dinosaur or something even more out of place like a rocket, a huge fork, or a giant squid. I'd rather see a creative artisitic attempt rather than what sometimes is a sad & blatent attempt at disguise.

There's a cell tower on I-5 as you head up to Vancouver that is disguised as a bell tower on a church.
