When is Verizon going to start getting some new (Motorola) phones??

It seems like everything Motorola has made recently has been GSM. Are they still making CDMA phones???

Is the V600 ever going to get a CDMA model?

I've been hanging on to my V60 for sometime now waiting to upgrade ... but I absolutely refuse to buy a phone I cannot sync with my contacts on Outlook (VX6000). I looked at the i600 and was a little surprised by the price, the caller ID issue, and the old OS issue.

Anyone have inside info on new phones coming to Verizon???

Drew

Don't expect a new MS based smartphone anytime soon.

Someone said that VZW planned on selling i600's with 2003 on them later in the year, ... which helps with your "old OS issue", but like byteme said, I don't think I'd expect anything completely new anytime soon.

Price is a one time thing. If the (more then) rumors come true, new i600s will come with SP 2003, and an update will be available to current owners. This will also solve the caller ID problem (assumingly). The i600 is a great phone hardware wise. All the bugs are software related and SP 2003 can only mean a good future for the i600.

The caller ID problem is when you have more than ~75 phone numbers in the phone, when you get an incoming call, no caller ID information is displayed -- no name, no number ..

Only happens on the Smartphones that are flip phones.

Weird. :(

I have 85 contact entries, about half have more than one phone number in each. My caller ID seems to be working fine so far on my i600.

I'm glad you're not having the problem.

Do a search here (or at www.howardforum.com) and you can see some real horror stories on the i600 and the Moto MPx200 regarding caller ID.

So far I am pretty impressed with the i600. I dont know that I even notice that is only the 2002 version of the OS.
