The digital sig is in the .CAB only.

The implication is that i600 can run user installed executables but won't install signed stuff unless it's trusted by Verizon.

So I could, for example, write a cheesy app and it will work on the phone...?

That sounds like half a system to me. "App locking"... right.

If that's true then piracy could be a big problem.

The two that I've tried are relatively "simple" apps that only require an executable. Any that are required to have a registration probably have additional dll's and other files associated with them in order to run.

But yes...if this program is not authorized to run on the phone then it shouldnt run at all unless it was certified. This is too easy of a work around.
