I managed to get my SPV resurrected and back to Smartphone 2002, so I only had to put up with that T68i for a few days. :lol: I sure missed my Smartphone, but I also sure wish it had Bluetooth. I suppose the E-200 is somewhere in my future now. ;-) I get my GPRS coverage through Fido (http://www.fido.ca), and it generally works quite well, but lately I'm back to carrying my Pocket PC in addition to my Smartphone (more on that later) and when I'm doing email I'd rather do it on the bigger screen of the Pocket PC, which means I need Bluetooth on my Smartphone. Forever in search of the perfect device... ;-)

Jason, now you're talking! 8) If only the OEMs (& Microsoft!) ;) could understand this a year or two ago (well, Sony Ericsson did!), we would be seeing several different Smartphone designs with Bluetooth & Cameras integrated, tearing away smartphone market share from Nokia Series 60 devices etc.

BTW, the Orange SPV e300 (HTC Voyager) "only" costs GBP £325 (GBP £381.88 inc. VAT) and can be purchased from https://www.ora.co.uk/orangeSPV/. But, that's not counting shipping costs & duties.

In the meantime, I'm still patiently waiting for the O2 Xphone (www.myO2Smartphone.com) to launch in Malaysia (expected availability - before Christmas). Besides Orange & O2, are there any other Smartphone designs (from Motorola, Samsung, Voq etc.) supporting Bluetooth?

Well, even with an E200 life's not perfect, I've yet to get my 5550 establishing a GPRS connection over BT with my E200 :evil:

I have to say that I am a little surprised by the current hardware makers viewpoint on bluetooth in mobile phones.

As I type this UK law is changing and it will no longer be legal to drive whilst holding a mobile phone or PDA.

I currently use a P800 and am looking to move to a Microsoft based smartphone. Ideally I would like a clamshell device as I travel a lot and I need something that can take the odd knock or two.

But I also need bluetooth so that I can take and make calls in my car. A car kit isn't really for me.

Looking at what is out there it seems that the options are limited for such a device. I need it to work on Vodafone in the UK and there doesn't look like there is a device right now for me - if I've missed one please let me know.

This is an ideal time for manufacturers to come into the UK market place for business users who want to go hands and wire-free. So where are the phones?

BTW, I just read that the Orange SPV E200 does not recognise 8-way directional movement on its joystick! (http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=97056) :( This seems like a step-backwards by HTC/Orange because the original SPV (Canary) & the SPV e100 (Tanager) keypad offered 8-way directional functionality - can anyone confirm this? I'm hoping that it's just a bug, rather than an "undocumented feature". So much for being my "perfect device"! :cry:

Also, it seems the bluetooth stack isn't compatitble with the one in iPaqs :evil:
