Similar to the Pocket Outlook Object Model advancements for .NET Compact Framework developers, the next generation of Windows Mobile will provide .NET developers with a unified model for accessing telephony features with managed code. Specifically, the features being made available through the .NET Compact Framework include access to the telephony UI, the ability to make and end calls, determination of the phone state, access to the call log, and notifications. This managed API brings together features from five native API models (TAPI, ExTAPI, Assisted TAPI, Phone API, and Call Log) in a common and simplified model.
