<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://google.blogspace.com/archives/001018' target='_blank'>http://google.blogspace.com/archives/001018</a><br /><br /></div>This is totally off topic but I think it's worth sharing with you, my fellow geeks.<br /><br />"Today, Google introduced a new advanced search feature that enables users to search not only for a particular keyword, but also for its synonyms. This is accomplished by placing a ~ character directly in front of the keyword in the search box. For example, to search for browser help as well as browser guides and tutorials users can search for <a href="http://www.google.com/search?q=browser+%7Ehelp">browser ~help</a>. The ~ character was chosen because it's shorthand for approximate and a good way for users to express their wish to expand searches to include synonyms."

Google Rocks. :werenotworthy: :way to go:

This is such a great idea. I can't tell you how many times I'm looking for something, and I can't seem to find anything that is remotely close to what I'm looking for. I know that I am not using the right word, this is gonna help large.

Are there any other search engines left on the net?

I think technically there are, although I certainly haven't found any reason to use them. Seriously though, searching via the ~ is brilliant. :!:
