Apple Goes After Amazon AppStore

I get why Apple is trying to protect what it deems is their name, but I certainly don't think people are stupid enough to be confused between Amazon's Appstore and the Apple one...or are they? What are your thoughts?</p>

Guess MS avoided the issue by having a MarketPlace, but it seems that appstore, the shortened version of application store, seems more a generic, common name, or description, than something that should really be registerable, trademarkable, or whatever the term is. Maybe if they just don't capatilize it, like Amazon appstore as opposed to Amazon Appstore. That should avoid any confusion :)

Maybe as consumers we should be offended that Apple believes we are so naive as to believe we can go to the Amazon appstore and get stuff for our iPad, or vice-versa. Hmm, maybe I should go home and see if I can find the Amazon Appstore app in iTunes.

Probably some blogger or reporter who first used the term anyway. Maybe everyone should pay that guy royalties.
