<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.syncdata.it/sphnotes.html' target='_blank'>http://www.syncdata.it/sphnotes.html</a><br /><br /></div>On my Pocket PC I frequently use notes to... take down notes. I synchronize them with Outlook on my PC. I miss being able to that using my Smartphone. Syncdata might have the solution! Yesterday, they released SmartphoneNotes, "a complete solution to synchronize Microsoft Outlook text notes with Windows Powered Smartphone 2002. The software includes an application to create, view, edit and delete text notes directly on the phone; the application recognizes URL, email addresses and phone numbers in the text - users can navigate, write an email or place a phone call directly from the note. Notes can be synchronized with Microsoft Outlook on the desktop or notebook PC, using the familiar ActiveSync interface. SmartphoneNotes can be used on all Orange branded Smartphone 2002."<br /><br />Check out the <a href="http://www.syncdata.it/spnscreenshots.html">cool screen shots</a>. I say that Syncdata has done a great job with the user interface! If you are interested, there is a free 30 day trial version to download!

Why this isn't part of the SPV OS is beyond me, but SmartphoneNotes is as good a replacement as I could wish for. I'm especially happy with the Rename feature. Excellent.

Great review Jenneth...answered all of my questions. I'm trying this program as soon as I get to work.

Excellent! It's completely beyond me why Microsoft didn't include Notes sync... 8O

Had one very minor issue with SmartphoneNotes: it says "SmartphoneNotes" in the ActiveSync window as well, and I apparently really want it to say "Notes" there - wonder what that says about me... :?
But there seems to be a very simple way around this 'problem': open your registry; find the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\Partners\[string that identifies your SPV]\Services\Synchronization\Objects\SPHNOTES

and change the value of the string "Display Name" in whatever you want it to be. I would suggest "Notes", of course...
