<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.smartphonefrance.info/tanager.asp' target='_blank'>http://www.smartphonefrance.info/tanager.asp</a><br /><br /></div>Smartphone France have peeled back a Tanager bit by plastic bit and have snapped a photo of literally everything. It reads a bit like a biology class I once took, only without the nasty smell of formaldehyde. Mmmm, delicious. Here's the first layer of the front side, more circuit board goodness awaits you when you click the link.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Tanager10.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/>

I was suprised to see a ruler using inches on this dissection. Don't the French use the metric system?

Actually most of the world uses the metric system. The USA and Britain are glaring laggards. At least in Britain there has been more efforts to move to the metric system. Its so much easier to calculate with the metric system. But being the way its entrenched in the US it is unlikely it will ever go away unless a major push is made for it.

when i posted on this i was shocked by inches thing. Worse yet i was saddened by the fact the bits seemed to be placed randomly on the ruler, so figuring out actual sizes are rather difficult in the picture. i think i've watched too many episodes of CSI or something.

Why would someone do something so awful to such a wonderful thing? 8O

Hmm... interesting. I can understand the FCC taking the thing apart a little more than I could understand I user taking it apart though. :-)

I guess that would explain the inches thing ;)
