For $69, you get a full copy of Lion, rather expensive when compared to the download price, but vital for users with maybe not the fastest access. After upgrading two systems to Lion, I found that the download speed is okay with my connection, but that I needed to upgrade each machine separately from the Apps Store, meaning two downloads of almost 4GB each. A bit annoying. On a "capped" cable modem connection, there goes 8GB of my monthly total. Later I used Apple's Recovery Disk Assistant with a spare flash drive, but it would've been nice to have the USB drive from day one - but $69 rather than $30? Ouch.</p>

After your first install you could have saved the Install Lion app to use on all your machines. Or better yet, open it up and burn yourself a Lion install disk (there were directions for this on various Apple sites). The problem is, once you install Lion then the app gets erased and you have no choice but to download the full thing again.

I messed up and didn't save the installer before running it on my 1st machine, so it deleted itself. But after the 2nd download, I burned myself an install disk.

Between that and multiple Xcode releases (each weighing in around 4 GB), it was a banner month for my 250 GB Comcast data cap!

Oh and I think I bought the Apocalypse Now HD bundle from iTunes, which weighed in around 16 GB!

The $69 price tag is a little steep, but I would have opted for the USB drive just for the sake of convenience, even though I have unlimited broadband capacity. Because if there ever were a list of "Things I KNOW I Should Do But Never Get Around To Until It's Too Late," it would include:

Take down last year's Christmas lights
Write my anniversary on a calendar
Rotate the tires on my car
Create a Recovery/OS Install disk
