Definitely a "why? because we can" type of product. I imagine you'll see about a 0% increase in picture quality for a 100,000% increase in weight and bulk. All for the low, low price of, well, one and a quarter more iPhones. And when the iPhone 5 comes out, you get to buy a new one. Brilliant!! :)

And if you have a white iPhone, you can get the kit for Canon EF lenses and mount one of the off white L series lenses. :)
