From all that I have read, while it is true that it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of previous versions of Final Cut Pro, it does make it easier for those with little or no experience to learn Final Cut Pro. So while current users could stick with the version they have and continue using it as is, newcomers to the program won't be faced with such a steep learning curve. I have never used it, but based on what I've read so far I'm thinking I might give it a go. What are your thoughts?</p>

I like it. It's not perfect, but it's a nice upgrade from Final Cut Pro if you aren't making theatrical films. There's plenty of precision, multiple tracks are not an issue (you can have them, contrary to the criticism), manual save doesn't exist because it auto-saves (a good or a bad depending on your perspective)....

It kinda follows the iMovie paradigm for editing. If you like it, you'll like this. You have tons of control over things, you just have to be willing to relearn some stuff. If you are, you'll probably enjoy it.

I moved to it from FC Express and, to me, it's a big upgrade and much more usable.
