Last week, when I wrote Coming soon to a Mac near you: serious malware, I expected to get an earful from Mac partisans telling me how wrong I was. Of course he knew he would be getting replies from the OS X "zealots" (or should I say "Mac Faithful") about this article, so he responds here point by point. Bottom line is, to me, you have to be careful regardless of the platform you are using. Malware can come in many forms so watch what you are doing on the Internet. It seems that Gruber doesn't put much faith in any of this malware business though, at least according to his post here. What are your thoughts? Is Ed Bott really crying wolf as Gruber suggests?

I don't understand the naivety here. UNIX (Linux) whatever you want to call it, the thing OSX is based on, has been a target for decades. There have always been virus and what else targeting it. Why does everyone seem to act surprised?

When I wrote UNIX code in the mid 80's UNIX got attacked! This is not new stuff. Well maybe new to younger ones :D
