Aside from Verizon's LTE Network, there isn't anything that isn't true about every Android phone and it's nothing we haven't heard forever and a day.

That being said, he did say he's sticking with his iPhone 4 and probably buying whatever comes next. I can take a wild guess at why: the battery on the Thunderbolt is miserable. I know this because we sell 'em and when I hear "6 hours" as a battery time, I tune out. That's unacceptable battery performance for a phone in 2011. It's better than the EVO, which two friends of mine who own carry two or three batteries around with, but that isn't really saying much.

And HTC Sense? Really?

Blech.

There are many good reasons to like Android over iOS, and that's coming from someone who will not buy an Android device, but when you're coming up with the top ten reasons to buy a phone and one of them is "it has a kickstand!" then you're really reaching.

I thought it was a very interesting article coming from someone who still wanted his iPhone 4 when all was said and done.

I have heard the battery life on the Tbolt is terrible. HTC really needs to work on that. They've released a number of phones with bad battery life. I'm not a fan of HTC Sense either. Of course I have a Blur phone and most hate that but oh well:)

I'm actually not very excited about LTE either. I just don't think the bandwidth is worth the battery life lost for most people. Once they improve the battery life I'll be more intereseted. For now, I don't feel like I'm waiting around for much of anything on my 3G connection.

Thanks Vincent!

I hate all the skins and carrier customizations. Give me plain vanilla Google and call it a day. Right now only two phones do that: The Nexus S and the G2.

The bandwidth is AMAZING. Honestly, video streams like it's local. It's something to behold (heh, I said Behold) but really what good is it if your phone dies before you can watch anything? And honestly, it's mostly Sprint and Verizon that have these battery life issues. For the most part, the T-Mobile 4G phones that I've played with (admittedly, mostly the Galaxy S 4G) just don't have battery life issues. You could make the case that they aren't using true 4G networks, but if I'm getting 15mb down on T-Mobile, 15mb down on Verizon, and 15mb down on Sprint, why would I care which one was a "true" 4G network anyway?

I think the problem is really CDMA and until that monkey disappears off everyone's back, battery life simply won't get better. GSM phones just don't have the battery life issues that CDMA phones do as a whole.

1. I personally won't buy an Android phone that I can't customise for that reason. :D

2. Could it be reception issues? Just asking. I'd point out my scarring experiences with my Milestone as an example...
